Job Choices!
Let's not make any hasty decisions careerwise... I do like Emergo. The work is interesting and the projects that come up are all different. Different clients, products, problems, and teams to work with. It's a very fun and exciting job. It is also rewarding as the client has a product at the end that they will use in their external audits to show compliance to 8.2.4, Internal Audit. Not to mention all our findings are things they can improve prior to their external audit so they can pass with flying colors. Still not crazy about billable hours or the idea of traveling for on-site audits, but overall I'm very happy here and really like the team I work with. We have had a meet and greets where we've been able to interact as people. This was lovely and something that seemed so foreign after my time at TUV. Also worth mentioning, Emergo is who saved me from TUV and I am so very grateful to have been given my life back.
That said, I do not want to miss out on this fantastic opportunity to work with one of the top dawgs in my field. The Job itself sounds like it was made for my experience and skill set. The team seemed nice enough as you can surmise from a half-hour call and I would like to have the opportunity to work with them. The locations they'd send me to sound better than the unknown areas and durations that Emergo might send me. Going back to the same place is great, especially if they are nice places. Seattle has family, I like California, and Dallas isn't that far of a drive.
I don't know what to expect as far as traveling goes for either job in the Covid climate so it's really hard to know. 10% max travel at Stryker and an unknown travel percentage at Emergo (they assured me it would be less than the 75% at TUV).
I have scrutinized so hard over this. I've worked thru checklists, pros&cons lists, done a ton of Stryker research - Reddit, linked in, glass door rating comparisons, watched all the Stryker videos on the Stryker site, done research on the company's founding, turnover rates, talking to all my friends and colleagues that have experience working at Stryker or knowing someone that did. I've also discussed and talked thru both scenarios with my parent, my partner, my best friend, and a new friend. This is not an easy decision!
Here I sit, still not sure what I should do... The response was due yesterday...
The first chapter of The Saga is compelling. I can't wait to get to the second chapter and find out what happens. What's the publishing schedule?
